OpenZFS vs Btrfs

Recently the development branches of ZFS for FreeBSD and Linux have been merged under one single umbrella project which is OpenZFS. This will enable the the multi-OS file system to evolve even faster and consolidate development effort into a single project. With Ubuntu making ZFS a viable installation option with the rise of OpenZFS 2.0 this avant-garde file system might become an even more lucrative option alongside XFS, Ext4, and Btrfs.

Just a few of many advantages of the ZFS are: maturity, copy-on-write semantics, native encryption, native distribution, built-in volume and integrated storage pool management, aka RAID capabilities.
